I was reminded of this by bitch's want a closer look? thread. I know there are similar older threads out there, but I want strictly a woman's answer to this.

Do you ever get ultimately pissed off by other women? Do you find yourself ever saying women suck? Don't get me wrong, I am VERY glad to be a female, but the things women do to eachother...the competitiveness pisses me off. It seems like guys are more...like companions. Women are usually at eachother's throats, for instance in arguments.

I have been spending time with a friend of mine who has very different opinions than me and cannot back them up very well. We were arguing today about where to go on a trip and she refused to hear anything I had to say about going to a park, and then kept pointing to places on the map and suggesting we go there. I told here that in my experience there are only FARMS there, but she said she was keeping an open mind. And I said what about parks, then? And she said I like parks, but I don't wanna go there. Eventually she said she didn't like this particular park and I threw the "open-minded" comment back in her face.

I hate to be the one to stand out, but this is just the kind of shit that pisses me off about liberals.

Why are women always trying to one-up eachother? It is pointless really!

Anyone else pissed off about this kind of crap?

Some girls get jealous of other girls. And what you're talking about is personality, if you think about it, it's how they've been raised up, not everyone is competive etc. and sometimes It happens to guys too, but its more a personality thing that gender.
Some people just want to be know-it-all's and not want anyone's opinion, or through their life they have become that way from other people, OR have always been that way.

I don't think it's just women, men like to outdo each other too. But I know what you mean about the women having the competitive streak too. My husband finally got a good paying job and when I told, who I thought was my best friend, how much money he would be making, and how we would be abe to pay off some bills and finally get ahead, she found every reason she could think of to bring me down. She told me that the job was too hard for my hubby to do and he wouldn't last, how making more money meant paying more in taxes, and how he would never be home and the baby would forget who he was. Just shit like that. Instead of being happy for us, she acted like she was jealous and just put me in a bad mood. I don't tell her anything good that happens to us anymore, not worth the heartache.

I think some women have to feel superior than others, maybe it's a self-esteem issue or a controlling issue. I have no idea, all I know is that I don't put myself in that situation anymore that I can't be myself and have to watch what I say so there isn't an argument.

Huh..you're right. I didn't really think about it that way. Yeah, the raising has a lot to do with it. it's just sad that some people can't break away from what their parents think and decide things for themselves. I confess to being like that myself. In a way, we all are, I suppose. The jealousy thing seems to be associated with the X chromosome, though. I can't recall guys being jealous of eachother about anything besides a car.

Guys can be jealous, sometimes of each other, I remember my 5 guy friends and I was the only girl, and one said something and then they started all having a fight =/ It was jealously, It was stupid.
But yeah It's their attitude towards people aswell.

Also, there is sometimes another motive behind it, like if they REALLY don't wanna do something they will make it a big deal and such, also if they are pissed at the person they will try to become better than the other etc.

Guys fighting over you? Lucky! And yet guys are stupid like that. And I myself do the whole "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE MAKING ME DO THIS! DO YOU KNOW WHAT SHIT I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH?" thing, which I'm not proud of, but it get people to do what I want. And when somebody is trying to get one up on me, I usually just drop the issue. It's typically not worth wasting my time, because it could go on for a long time.

So? You know what I'm saying, But apart from that, the mind works in a wierd way, for instance, if the girl didn't wanna go on this trip etc. She would make it difficult for you and try to be all wise. When you can see right through it, I'm not saying she does, but that sometimes happen, I have been through it myself with one person who I couldn't stand, so I made things difficult for her, which wasn't fair on her and I wised up about it. I don't really like to admit I did that, but we're are not friends now, which is better because I didn't like her much.
What I'm saying, when someone doesn't like something they will make it difficult for themselves and others sometimes.

Eh, sometimes it pisses me off. Most of the time I won't give them the satisfaction of competing with them though. I just ignore it, hoping they'll realize how ridiculous they're being.

I have found women to be very fickle. One minute, they are super sweet the next they are running all over you to get something they want. Ok not all women are like this but that was my original view of them. I grew up in an all girl's catholic school and that was the worst thing my mother could have done for me. I learned not to trust women. I get suspicious now of their true intents. I have found some female friends I feel I can trust but unfortunately due to my past, I don't think I could ever have a "true best friend girl". I usually find men have a more up front way of being. you generally know if they are playing games. They are just not as good at it as women are. Girls will knock each other down when it comes to competitiveness and jealousy. Not that men don't do that but they don't play the nasty mind games that women do.
