I'm still not content with that answer. It's too vague. Is there any kind of mathematical way of explaining it?

Current reputation power is the amount of reputation members give to another user I believe (though it seems to be working funky for admins right now, I've given more rep than anyone here lol).
I'm working on finding the exact mathematical formula now, you have me curious. ;)
The other green dot thing is unrelated, that's how much positive or negative reputation points others have given you by clicking on the +/- button in a person's posts.

One thing I did learn...
If someone has an altering power of 36.
Giving out positive rep, they give 36 points.
Giving out negative rep, they give out 18 points.

Reputation Power is influenced by things such as Reputation points, post count, register date too...

I guess it's also subject to change negatively seeing as mine went back down to 0.

It does not have to mean that you say nice things about people (Though that normally doesn't hurt). People can rate your comments either "Approve" or "Disapprove" and then give a reason.
If they use it right, it is suppose to gauge the factor in which what you said, contributes to the conversation.
If you have someone that you want to add comments to their reputation, just look for the http://forums.wtf.com/rage/buttons/reputation.gif Icon at the top right of the post. A small window will open giving you the choice of Approve or disapprove. Then type your reason why.

I've made a few more adjustments that might make the process a little more fun, and changed a little math.. Some of you will have additional points at this time.
Default reputation points is 10 upon registration.
For every 15 posts, user gains 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every 25 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
User must have 25 Posts minimum before his reputation hits count on others.
User must have 10 reputation before his reputation hits count on others.
Users can give 20 seperate reputation clicks per day.
5 different users must be given reputation before you can hit the same person again.
These values may NOT be final, we'll see how it goes.

So if it's 10 on default, then why do I only have 5? Does the rule not apply to me?
Jason
07-06-2004, 05:27 PM
Sorry, the 10 points by default are your reputation POINTS given to you, not your reputation POWER. ;)

There might be two persons who where nice. But hearing saying nice things here ? Foreigners aren't really welcome here. And I haven't heard somebody dissagree. Disapproved or approved...that doesn't matter. Although I have now 8 rep thingy or something, instead of 7.
than i have a lot of disapproves because one of the moderators likes to piss me off, where ever I am...no matter what I say....
* this might be disapproved too, I'd better shut before she starts to piss me off here *

So why do I have two green boxes next to my name? When I go over it with the mouse, it says I have a spectacular aura about. I suppose it's good, but how did it happen?
