The Four Stations of Vivaldi rocks (as much as classical music can rock..which is more than people think!)

Isn't it odd how the more well known composers are also the ones who have the highest vote? Hmmm... I personally like classical music a lot cuz I can take and play most of it on my flute.

You second the Vivaldi rocks part? or the generality of "classical music rocks".

President Bush went to China to meet President Hu.

He asked him.. "Do you have elections?"

Hu did think a moment about it, and said with a laugh...

"Yes, I have them evely day!"

Since Caldara isn't listed - I'll go with Mozart. Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) is just fab.

I think you mean the Four Seasons.

Anyway, Prokofiev is not listed here, and he is my favorite. The Cinderalla Suite, his many symphonies... There is a passion i feel with his music. I also particularly like Britten (sp?) for his overly dramatic style.

Of your list, I'll pick Tchaikovsky, thanks largely in part to 1812, however, to those other classical music fans, I must reccomend this piece:

"Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber. A truly beautiful piece of music, one that evokes an emotion from me every time I listen.

I listen to everything classical included. You have to give credit to others too though. Tool, Ozzy, Black Sabbith, Metallica, AC/DC, Godsmack, Korn, and Pantera, it was through music like this that we became what we are today.

Who was it who made the one with the violins that sounded like donkeys? It had Grand Canyon in the name of it.

Nobuo Uematsu is great! (he's the composer for the Final Fantasy series). Among the poll options, I've gotta go with Mozart. Really helps with the studying. Handel's work on the Messiah was fuckin pimp though.

I have come to realize that most people on WTF are considerably younger and probably have not really listened to much classical music in their lives. I personally enjoy the hell out of it. It relaxes me, when my children are driving me up a wall...lol Don't get me wrong, Im not some old fart, Im 27. As for the other composers you listed, I LOVE Danny Elfman, you can always pick out his music in movies, it has that specific sound to it. He's great!
