Would somebody please enlighten me as to what a flamer is? I am somewhat new and I came here without knowledge of what a flamer is and still do not know what one is.

No it's a poster that's out there to do nothing but tear down the other posters.
The second definition is a out right gay person. <--- This is actually the first deviation of the word meaning, but we are on the internet some time doesn't really count.
