The only one I have pictures of right now is Ringo. He's a little bigger now and his ears aren't taped. Maybe I'll get pics of the others later.

Awww...cute kitties :)

It's funny, I was actually thinking about starting a thread like this, I was just waiting for some pics to come back from the photolab.

Here are a couple for now, until the others come in:

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/testadicazzo/027_24A.jpg
^ That's Bobo, aka Bubba. He's about 8 years old.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/testadicazzo/Camping/dummy.jpg
^That's my Dummy (I didn't name him), aka Dummykins. He was a stray who showed up at the house one day. I'm guessing that was about 9 years ago, and he wasn't no pup then either. I have no idea how old he is, but I'd have to guess maybe 11 or 12.

wow... that's really bizarre. My sister had a boxer mix named Buster who would have been about the same age as yours if he hadn't passed away this past fall.

Because Buster Douglas was kinda big back when he was a puppy, they named him Buster, and I called him, "Buster Dogless" too...

looked a lot like yours too. :)

yes.. how bizarre that both dogs were given one of the most popular dog names of all time?

and it probably looked alot like yours because they are THE SAME BREED.

derailed
02-12-2006, 08:02 PM
they weren't the same breed. roxy is pure pit while honey's sister's dog was a boxer mix. they are very different if you know what you are looking at.

HoneyImHome
02-12-2006, 08:09 PM
Yeah, we clarified that already. What was bizarre wasn't just that, it was that, their age, what I thought was their appearance and the nickname of Buster Dogless.... I was the only one around here for 12 years that called the dog that, and the resemblence I THOUGHT I was seeing was down to the spots on the dogs' noses - more than just a breed thing - when I was looking at the wrong dog, that is.

Actually, the dogs named Buster look nothing alike. Funny how you missed all that discussion....

So... same appearance, same age, same name, same nickname, different breed... you're right definitely nothing odd there.

Everyone move your pets to a safe area!!

Uber, your cat looks like he belongs in my house, actually, he looks almost identical to a cat I had a long time ago.

Your greyhound was beautiful. Sorry for your loss. We thought about adopting one a while back but just never could find a near enough place (now it wouldn't be too hard there's a greyhound racing track less than 45 minutes away).

Adopting straight from the race track would be a nightmare. Most tracks only deal with one or two agencies that'll pick a dog up. No way do they want you seeing how they treat the poor animals.

However, if you are interested in adopting let me know. I am active in that community and can at least point you to the nearest adoption group and give you some pointers about the dogs themselves.

HoneyImHome
02-24-2006, 02:47 PM
Yeah, the conditions were the reason we were hoping to adopt, many are just pretty much discarded or left behind after their "prime". I'd still be interested, but we don't have the room now as we have 4 pets at the moment that already keep us pretty busy.

I'll let you know for sure though, if we go back to that as an option.

Icka, my smaller cat I posted here is 7 and she's small. People still think she's not full-grown when they see her. She had a litter of kittens before she was a year old and she never grew any bigger than she was at that time. I don't know if it had anything to do with it or not, but it was just what we observed.

I love your doggie's, Bitch. Shepherds and huskies are so beautiful. We bought a husky/wolf mix with blue eyes. We named her Cyber (before the term became dirty). The place we got her from had deplorable conditions and lied about her shot record. We didn't have her a full weekend before she died from parvo. We were going to take her to the vet on the next Monday for her first official checkup. She was 8 weeks old.

This pic was taken around Christmas. As a matter of fact, this pic was taken one day before Kahne (left) ran away for the night. It felt like I lost a kid. I was so tore up. My daughter found him at our neighbors house the next day where he slept on their porch because the poor guy didn't know his way home.

Anyway, these are our pets: Kahne on the left, half Jack russel, half weiner dog...whatever they call them.

Chavez is on the right. 100% pure chihuahua. The poor guy has a gun too big for his holster. :happysad:

This is Nibbles:
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b70/roxy657/DCP_0864.jpg

And this is how she got her name:
"First of all to understand what happened to killer, you gotta understand who killer the dog was. Now killer was born to a three-legged bitch of a mother. He was always ashamed of this, man. And then right after that he's adopted by this man, Tito Liebowitz he's a small time gun runner and a rotweiler fight promoter. So he puts killer into training. They see killer's good. He is damn good. But then he had the fight of his life. They pit him against his brother nibbles. And killer said "no man that's my brother, I can't fight nibbles" but they made him fight anyway, and killer, he killed nibbles. Killer said "that's it!" he called off all his fights, and he started doing crack, and he freaked out. Then in a rage, he collapsed, and his heart no longer beat. wow."

Don't you just love a the doggie version of red-eye? Sparky does not have white eyes. She's got dark brown eyes.

Sparky is an 11 year old, 35 lb shepherd mix. The vet thinks she's also mixed with a terrier and possibly a greyhound since her litter mates were much bigger than she was. But that's her posing for the camera as usual. She's such a cuddle monkey!

Skye was just about to leap up and give me a kiss. She's an 8 year old (will be 9 in June), 45 lb Siberian Husky of the woolie kind. Her fur is MUCH longer than it should be so that defect is called woolie and she looks like she's taken a few hits in the spin cycle. She's an adorable poof ball.

I did have another bird before Kiwi, his name was sky, he died a few weeks after i had him. Never by pets from Petsmart or any other retail store! I brought him back and they said "oh, some times we get birds in and they may have some sort of bird disease and usually we test them but not all the time". What kind of load of crap is that "some times we test them but not all the time" You should not sale any animal until they are tested well. And this is Nala when I first took her in. She was a stray and was emaciated. The picture is when I first brought her in, so she doesn't look too good. She's fat and happy now. I've gotten attached to her, so I'm not sure if she'll be going to another home. :) Plus she's attached to me and won't let anyone else touch her.

Hehe. I'd never part with my Sargie. :)
He has health issues anyway. If I don't feed him a special kind of food he gets bladder crystals and then he has trouble urinating. It's sad.
And a couple months ago he somehow ate a ton of string. I didn't know what was wrong with him and he was vomiting bile all day. He came out at night and he just didn't look good. Just hella lethargic. When I picked him up, he cried in pain. So I was like..Ok, time to go to the ER. He had string stuck under his tongue and all the way down to his stomach. His stomach was pulling the string and it was cutting his tongue. So they had to do surgery, which was $1500. He had string from his stomach all the way through his intestines to his colon. His intestines were bunching up together and leaking shit. I guess they were pretty red and irritated. Pretty sick.
This is what he ate..

And Brizzle, Sargie is so sweet. Bless his heart. I had a cat for 10 years (she died Aug. 12) and she had this insane fascination with scotch tape. It drove her nuts. Something about the smell of it. She tried to eat it off of anything she could.

My cat, Dagny, chewed and clawed her way through the the top of my tank. I put heavy stuff and cloth over it to prevent this, but she just moved the shit out of the way and chewed through the tapestry. Roffles.

I didn't have a snake at the time, so my mouse had free run of a 55gallon tank. He loved it. So did Dagny.

She would crawl in there and just hang out with my mouse and knock over all of his toys. Here's a pic of them sleeping together. I have another, but photobucket is being a dick.

Webcam pics don't really do her justice. My digi cam is out of batteries.

She's a Columbian Red Tail Boa. I definitely got the pick of the litter. I haven't picked a name for her yet, because I haven't had much time to hang out with her. I've been letting her become adapted to her new home and don't want to stress her out by taking her out and handling her all the time.

I took her out for the first time today.

Here are some names that I've picked out for her. Some help would be appreciated.

Aveta - Celtic goddess of female fertility, childbirth and fresh water
Ka - means destiny or the circle of life.
Saraswati - Hindu goddess of knowledge and wisdom
Yaffa - means "beautiful" in Hebrew
Clementine - means "mercy" in French
Maya - Hindu goddess of illusion and dream
Chasca - Incan goddess of down, twilight, Venus
Ishtar - Mesopotamian goddess of love - the highest ranking of the deities
Pinga - Inuit goddess of the hunt, fertility and medicine
Freyja - Norse goddess of fertility, wealth, love, beauty, magic, war and death
Aurora - Roman goddess of the dawn
Janas - Sardinian goddess of death
Chumana - Native American snake maiden
Shesha or Anata - World serpent in Indian mythology

I like Pinga. I also really like Yaffa. The girls get 7-9' and the boys only 5-8'. That's not TOO big. I actually considered buying the guy's 12' Burmese Python (which get to 25' and 400lbs). Then I realized that I wouldn't be able to give it a happy home with its own room.

She's soon to shed, so I've really only been able to handle her for about a week. I don't really KNOW her yet. I'll pick a definite name for her once we are more acquainted. Thanks for your input.

Here's a pic. She doesn't like my webcam. She struck at it the other day.

I love feeding pictures! God, I love snakes.

You probably already know this, but feeding your snake in its home isn't as good as feeding her in a feeding tub. She could accidently swallow her bedding and sooner or later think that when you open her cage it's feeding time. Which isn't the case all the time.

Also(sorry, I don't mean to be annoying), is that still a piece of shed left on her? Try soaking her in warm water and help get the shed off. And just maybe up her humidity a bit next time she's in shed so it will all come off in one piece.

Again, you probably know all that. :)

Yes, I know all of this. My bathtub is really cold, so I fed her in her house this time, monitoring her carefully, of course. I feed all of my snakes in the bathtub.

Her shedding was a rough one this time. I soak her in warm water, spray her down with warm water, put the light over the water bowl, etc. I don't feed during shed time, but it had been too long. This actually helped her get rid of that left-over skin around her neck. Poor baby.

Yeah, I figured you knew everything. It's just some people don't so I just point out some things..

Aw, poor girl. When I first started getting into snakes I had a ghost cornsnake hatchling who had a piece of shed left at the tip of his tail. I didn't know I was supposed to help get it off so I left it. The tip of his tail ended up dying and it fell off.
