Stopping time

Well, I think I'm starting to think too much but I thought up another weird thing... this time on my way to a grocery store. If time came to a complete stop for the duration of what seemed like a minute (even though the minute would not actually pass) ... would we know about it? The way I look at it is time stopping would stop everything in existence from moving and with the absence of signals moving within your brain (I think that's what neurotransmitters do but I could be completely off) noone would realize that it had stopped.

i wish i could stop time, not age, but still interact with the world. i would use this mainly to sleep or get to places far away. possibly to do work or study if i procrastinated too much.

it's quasi possible. here how it's done:

jump on a concorde (that's quite a task considering they're all grounded and out of commission), if the sun is setting in one location, you can see the sun rising towards the end of the trip. (okay, that didn't work because time didn't fucking stand still, it went forward really quickly)

i guess another trump card of the concorde was when looking out the window you could see slower aircraft "moving in reverse"

okay none of this has much to do with making time stand still, just fucking around with time.

It's possible, with the Theory of Relativity. (I don't feal like explaining) To the observer it would seem like time has stopped for everyone else.

The problem with stopping time is how to get it started again.

This is just a theory.
If somehow we caused time to stop, it could work like traffic stopping for a red light. The only problem with this is that not everything stops simultaneously.
If one car stops to fast the one behind it crashes right up the back of it and then we have potential for a 4 dimensional traffic jam!
But as time cannot be concieved as solid matter the car behind the one that stopped could conceivably pass/overtake the stopped car.
If we are in the car doing the overtaking what we have achieved is in fact "time travel".
Now the problem with cruizing down a busy highway at a speed of 220KM/H is that u cant just chuck a u-turn to go back to where u came. In fact you need to slowdown, pullover, and allow the rest of the traffic to catch up then u can either slip into ur appropriate space or technically allow yourself to drop further back in the line

Well since time is just something the human-race made, you can in theory stop time whenever you want; of course you won't freeze in place, but you will be late for work.

But if you could freeze biological time, then no, you wouldn't notice it since even you biological sense of passing time would halt.

As for tiem, everthing in the universe...from stars to worlds to minerals...has a life line and a time....so if you stopped time, it would stop the time in the entire universe. I don't think it would be possible to stop time just on earth or in a small portion of earth.

I dont know if this is related- but you know when you can just be sat down in the garden or during a meal and you black out for like a mili second- like real quick- not like fainting or anything but its like you blink with out closing your eyes... I get that probably about once a month and that could be time stoping i guess.. either that or I need to get an eye test ??

A single person can't exactly stop time. However, if someone were to create a device or some type of implant,...or drug i guess, that exponentially increased one's reaction time, time would seem to the person as if it has slowed. Stopping time for everyone but yourself is also a common thought. This in itself can't be possible. If time were frozen, you wouldn't be able to breathe because the oxygen in the air would also be paralyzed, but say you could breathe and move. If time stopped, would there be an acceleration due to gravity? Acceleration is a change in velocity over TIME. So if you jumped, would you continue to rise until time was unpaused? All things aside, if a person had time stopped for everyone but themself, it would create an alternate reality for them and would destroy our reality as well as their's. I don't know im just bullshitting.

Stopping time is a very difficult concept to understand and involves deep thought. I just think it is something that I think should never happen because it would probably screw everything up. I am glad it will be nearly impossible to reach because I don't want to be around when it happens.
