There is only one thing that I'm always wondering if aliens. exist then why haven't we heard from them yet after a couple billion years, you think their would be other sentient life other than humans and I'm not talking about that scientology shit(no offense scientologists) but I'm saying why are we the only ones that dominate. Why this planet you think there would be something other than humans, that have evolved to our stature even higher even. How do we know we are not just being watched by aliens like in some movies(I think we all know what they are) but I mean seriously how could we expect aliens to be peaceful I think aliens are using humans as entertainment and laughing at us.

How do you know they haven't been here? How do you know they're not sitting right next to you? *darts a look over shoulder* How do you know that they don't have some goofy technology that makes us look like the Flintstones, and are advanced enough to utilise search options at websites regularly? How do you know that aliens aren't just a fuctdup by-product of our distant future, and they're coming back in time as if to visit 'The Zoo' as if to say, "This is what you don't do"? How do we really know that you're not an alien from Planet Testicular Numer 9?

Anyways, our galaxy is pretty big, so I thinking that it would be impossible for us to be alone in this place. Another point is humans have only evolved over the last 2 million years if I'm not mistaken. We were the lucky ones to evolve to this state where we can express our thoughts world wide is an instant, natural selection and survival of the fittest, etc.
In time I think we'll make public contact and then we can all have a party in New York or something :happysad:

What I meant was they don't exist, so why bother making up a whole lotta bullshit about it? I mean, if there were aliens, we would've been overrun millions of years ago. And if you say that yes, there are aliens, then you need to get a reality check.

yes an area im qualified in.
basically in all likely hood there are other forms of life out there. it being sentient, proabably the likely hood of them even being in our galaxy not likely. they, or us, would have to have access to the power of the gods to be able to make inter-system flights. let alone get to the next galaxy. so I say yes there are other sentients...but none of us will ever ever ever meet. unless we last another couple billion years. which I seriously doubt.
No way, there can't be any other life in the infinite universe with its billions of stars, all of which have their own little solar system. The odds of another planet anything like Earth are just too slim. We are humans, therefore we own and run the universe, which is a pretty good deal, considering we've never been outside the solar system we inhabit.

Have any of you thought to consider that in OUR universe and OUR dimension (there are other dimensions, why not other universes?) that WE are the advanced beings? Mabye all the others are still in thier pre historic era.

Well, no offense but star trek sucked for one but I think your right man they are looking at us sticking anal probes up are asses without us even knowing they are waiting for us to make robots so we don't have sex with humans anymore and will have sex with the robots and when we finally die off they will take the robots, and have sex with them as seen in the comic "Nine Planets Without Intelligent Life" that my theory everyone is looking to get some.

Well, there is a chance that we are the most developed life form in the universe (I believe there are other places where there's intelligent(okay, human's aren't intelligent, but you know what I mean) life), but the problem is the age of the universe is so much more than the age of humans that thre are probably planets lik earth even in our galaxy.
Why they haven't contacted us (or have they? maybe G.W. Bush is tryin to negotiate :D)?
Well, it could be that it ain't easy to find a planet like ours out of billions of galaxies in which there are billions of stars, even if someone WANTED to find us..
I mean if they're looking for us like we are for them, with superstrong telescopes etc, it still takes a lot of time for light to reach from one end of a galaxy to another ( a million years I think, and that's jus one galaxy).

What I evidently didnt fully explain in my first post is that the only way to get from one star to another is by a phenomanal amount of power and time, it would be colony ships...and the nearest system doesnt have planets. in Startrek this is only made simpler because they create a rip in space and travel outside of "existence" (so to speak). Basically that would be nearly the only way to travel between stars. cause even if you used enough rocket fuel to get to lightspeed by the time you got that fast you'd have shrunk to an infintismal dot.
What I'm saying is in all likely hood eventually we will come into contact with other races but we'll probably never meet them. To also further explain the chances of having a single planet around a star is somthing like (this is an estimate, but one made by well-known astronomer non the less) 1 in 5, for it to be habitable im just going to take a guess at 1 in a 100,000 (Im really being easy with you on this considering placement size and amount of certain elements on the planet), the chances of life actually being suffiently intellegent (this one really is a guess) is I'd say (im thinking about roughly how many general types of animals we have) 1 in 100,000 again.
thats 1 in 10 billion per galaxy our size which has roughly 1 billion stars every galaxy has a 1 in 10 chance of having an intellegent species like ours...or 1 in 100 that theres a secound in our galaxy. in all likely hood due to the amount of scanning we do do, they (the aliens) arent anywhere near us or at least not the nearest 100 lightyears.
dont bash me (if you plan on doing so) this is not fact just an intellegent (very intellegent mind you) scratch work done by me. hope you enjoyed any new thoughts I brought to mind.

i love aliens. A couple make it across the border everyday, and I'm waiting there ready to pay them 50 cents an hour to roof houses. Sorry i had to say it. haha.
but really, I love the whole alien idea. especially in Roswell, new mexico. I went there on a paintball trip about a month ago and there was an entire street dedicated to aliens. A mcdonalds had an alien ship instead of a play ground. And some people seemed to believe in the idea of aliens as I would if I had more proof, from educated peoples. Rather than the usual proof heard from drunk Rednecks who see the norther lights and what not.

I think there must be something out there, but, why do people assume that aliens are a higher life form than us... It could be that the are like 1000,000,000 light years away and havent figured out that the planet isnt flat... doesnt mean they dont exist!

In all likely hood when we do meet, if we meet we'll be at similiar levels of technology. reason I say this is in many places of science we're maxing out our knowledge of things, in Mathmatics (Unless somone comes up with new crazy idea's whcih is nigh imposible considering the height of crazieness we already have proven), we're coming to the max of molecular manipulation, and all sorts of other stuff too. by the time we meet each other we'll both be maxed out in our sciences.
