With the Holiday season pretty much being here, this is the time to stuff your blowhole full of everything you shouldn't.

Well I know we all have foods that we can't get enough of or remind us of our childhood/family/good times.

What are yours, whether you cook it or just eat it? Double props for recipes.

Strawberry Danish Cookies.

OMG they're the shit, yo! It's a relatively healthy cream cheese based dough, without too much sugar. You just press a screwdriver handle into the cookie and fill it with strawberry jam before you cook them. To make them even better for you, sugar free jam works too, and after baking it's hard to tell the difference.

And, turkey gravy. I could drink it by the glass, I know... I need help.

I'm always wolfing this shit down at holiday banquets. It's easy to make too!

INGREDIENTS
2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
1 (1 ounce) package dry Ranch-style dressing mix
1 cup fresh broccoli, chopped
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup chopped cauliflower
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Roll out the crescent roll dough onto a 9x13 inch baking sheet, and pinch together edges to form the pizza crust.
Bake crust for 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Once finished cooking, remove crust from oven and let cool 15 minutes without removing it from the baking sheet.
In a small mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, and dry Ranch dressing. Spread the mixture over the cooled crust. Arrange broccoli, tomato, green bell pepper, cauliflower, shredded carrots, and Cheddar cheese over the cream cheese layer. Chill for one hour, slice and serve.

I choose to eat like I'm living in an air-raid shelter, does that count as nostalgic?

Vegemite pasta
Boil pasta, drain, add margarine and Vegemite to taste.

Toasted peanut butter and banana sandwiches
Prepare peanut butter sandwich and squish banana onto it. Close sandwich and grill. Turn when toasted, eat once golden brown.

Spaghetti with tomato sauce and bread crumbs
Boil pasta, drain, add tomato sauce to taste, sprinkle with bread crumbs (I usually knock this up when the bread's gone stale).

Pop-eye (signiture dish)
Make a hole in a slice of bread. Place in fry pan & place yer left overs in the hole. Fry for one minute, flip, put second piece of bread on top. Remove when ready, add tomato sauce.

Nature's broom
1 x can of three-bean mix, 1 x can of corn kernels, 1 x can of asparagus cut & tips. Splash with balsamic vinegar (only eat this when the wife is out of town or it'll keep you both up).

holiday meatballs.. Thier pretty much like any meatballs cooked and served in a crock pot.. but we would make so many along with other stuff that we just had a kind of kitchen buffet on christmas eve.. the entire family and half of creation would come over and a floor collapsing party would insue...

Are they still decent? Decent for cardboard with cinnamon on them, that is.

Taco Bell got rid of their mexi nuggets. I'll never forgive them for that.

Back to the subject, greenbean casserole. Fucking delicious.

My grandma cooks ricotta and apple pie, and tiramisu. She's Italian and they both kick the shit!
