I need a little help,I want a tattoo on my foot that goes around it, some kind of writing. But I don't know what. but no, klishee "carpe diem" something..me
my boyfriend said I should get "no shit sherlock" in hebrew so I would offend people when they ask what it says...so
Is there some ideas? suggestions?

actually any suggestion goes :happysad: but I've decided that I want something there and it's not around the ankle it's around the foot..like across the akilles heel and just before the toes :happysad:
and it's propably going to be in brown, so it's a bit sneeky sneeky :)

Try not to get anything in a different language unless you're absolutely positive of what it says. I hate those fucking people who don't research their kanji or anything. Where it's like, "Oh it says beautiful goddess." But in truth it really says something like, "Tub Girl Expose".

Write a list of all the things you love and quotes. Also your favorite kinds of fonts.

Once you narrow it down, think of wrapping a certain image or symbol or chain of pictures around your lettering.

I am getting a sakura(cherry blossom) tree or vine wrapped around JUDE09 somewhere.

Ah, if I were to give any sort of advice, I'd go with... Get something that has meaning to you; something that reminds you of a good part of your life, or do it as something to help you get over a bad part of your life. A tattoo should be a symbol, in my opinion. You'll have it on you for forever. :]

I, personally, am going to get names and dates of those close to my heart who have passed. Other than that, a little tiny Opeth "O" (google images!) right behind my right ear, because that band helped me through some pretty tough times.

I only have two :sad: but I designed them both. One turned out to be the most bizarre story of my life but my point is when you finally decide on what you want, design it yourself or have it designed per your instructions so that whatever it is, it has your thoughts applied to it thus making it unique and special to you.

Personally, when it comes to 2-D artwork, especially tattoos, I like designs that play with 3-D elements. Things that intertwine or give the illusion of depth, layers, etc.

I have a lot of design experience and would be happy to help you. I'm sure you know people that can do the same but I just thought I would extend the offer. :)

Well, to be clear, it's not so much that I design tattoos specifically as I have merely designed quite a few (along with fonts, logos, jewelry, furniture, etc.) for people that like my artistic/design style.

What I really mean is, since you have now broken my long-standing procrastination record (thank you, btw) for not scanning my work into the computer, I will have to get back to you with some actual design samples.

In the meantime, here are a few things I had handy. These are more doodles and sketches (and are actually very old) but they can kind of give you an idea of how I do things. Again, it's not like this stuff is in my portfolio or anything but since I offered and you requested, I wanted to at least show you something.

I have both feet tattooed and if this is going to be your first tat. let me warn you this is one of the most painful places to get inked. I have a backpiece,my ribcage, and feet. I were a size 10 shoe so I have big feet. I have full size on both. As far as suggestions tattoos are pretty personal. Your boyfriend's not going to be walking around with some lame tat. if you happen to part ways. Take your time, sketch out some ideas if you can, and flip through some art books.
