Lemme DJ some House Music. I already sent in an application, and I know there are a few people on here that would like to listen to the stuff I've gathered.

I'll make sure the hardcore fans of Electronica / House / Trance / Techno are satisfied and that those that aren't into it get a taste of the better stuff.

if you play "Imma Barbie Girl" I WILL kill you in your sleep with a dull razor and a box of crayons.

Rook, if I had a vote, I would cast it in favor of your idea.

Unspun, have no fear. There is no hip little shit going on with this.

This type of music I actually take very seriously. Just so that you all have a vague idea as to what type of music I'll be playing, here are a few sources:

Justice
deadmau5
Boyz Noize
DJ Caffeine
DJ Pavo
Shy Child
Telepopmusik
The Egg
The Beholder and Ballistic
SMF
Infected Mushrooms
MSTRKRFT
Fedde le Grande
Daft Punk
Melleefresh
Dirty South
David Guetta
Benassi

Plus others that have been suggested by people like S3V3N.

This music is great for people who want to listen to something that will hype them up a bit. Good rhythms, good beats, rare lyrics, and all the best bass.

I can't explain why, but read as SATAN for me. He must be trying to curse me or something.

I want to hear it Rook. Now.

I'm a MASSIVE electronic music head. I've got lots, of most genres. Leading the pack is Drum & Bass and IDM by far. I can contribute all sorts of music for it.

Plus, I've actually got a PC with audio progs and turntables piped through it plugged into the internet ready to go. I was doing regular live D&B shows for a while.. slacked off a bit once I bought my house, but I'd be all about it for a bit of a speed change too. :)

Let's get this shit done!

You should write up an official proposal for your idea and submit it to Taylor.

...and remember... Eye of the Tiger, baby. Eye of the Tiger.

Hey, Taylor.

Instead of "Recycle Bin" my application, look at it. People want it. I want it. You want it. Let's fuck.

I mean, uhh...uhh...application, yeah. Application. Accept it. Fix me up.

How far back are you planning on going with your playlist?

The Orb?
Orbital?
Meat Beat Manifesto?
F.S.O.L.?
Single Cell Orchestra?
Underworld?

Just curious.

Rook

Orbital - yes.
F.S.O.L- yes.
Single Cell - yes.
Underworld - yes.

The Orb and Meat Beat I haven't heard yet.

I'll give them a few spins; see what they're all about. If I like it, I'll throw them out.

Do you plan on mixing/beat matching the songs of a given set or are you going to fade between tracks?

I've only played with Atomix's Virtual DJ outside of actual decks but it seems like a pretty good program if you intend to mix tracks.

A combination, really.

I intend on buying another Virtual DJ software for the PC, so that I can smoothly transition between the songs. I currently have a trial version which I am really, really good with; but the trial goes away after 60 days (I have barely a week left). I'll buy a newer, upgraded version for the same system. That's if I get the O.K. from Taylor.

I need to mess around quite a bit with that program before I start going live, though. I wouldn't want to make the music I like sound crappy. I'm also planning on having some sort of web cam up, so that listeners can see what's going on, on the virtual table, or see some sort of crazy Windows Media Player-like patterns moving about to the beat.

It's a work in progress. I just need to find out if I'm going to actually have a time slot to get the ball rolling.

There are plenty of time slots currently available . Also, we at WTFR use SAMBC as a virtual DJ. As of right now, that's the program you'd need to use for your show, and as a plus - you wont need to pony up $200 plus for this program. With that said; even though you are an extreme dufus, I'm sure Taylor would welcome you on as a staff member. The problem is that Taylor is AWOL with personal issues at the moment. Most likely you will need to talk to him one on one about your interests. You're not likely to find a real decision from him in an open forum. Good luck.

Wait, you're a DJ and don't have vinyl? You're doing this all wrong.

Get Ableton Live and be done with it already.

I'm pretty sure that was electro, not house. ;)

Wrong, I'm no DJ.

But I do play around with music software on my free time, and I can pull it through.

Wiz - yes.

The theme music for House is a song called 'Teardrop' by Massive Attack.

Just thought I'd throw that out there, because I'm an ass.
