Fuck that shit.
There's a difference between nerds and nerds who are uber fucking annoying and anti-social.
WoW is already making me consider abandoning a friendship with a former friend, who's been a dick since he started .
When a fan of Volition won't play games from them he hasn't tried, and instead blows you off to play WoW, you KNOW he's fucking obsessed.
ESPECIALLY when EVERY pice of media and software you've sent him before he's loved.
On top of that, it's like he's a changed dude. His attitude about shit just plain fucking sucks.

Well my school is full of gamers so even if I become obessed with a game they don't mind that much and doesnt bother our friendship.
I play WoW and CoH at the same time, but as of late WoW has been freezing up on me a lot so if it continues I'll probly stop my account till they fix the damn thing.

I had a level 60 night elf rogue, I realized I played a little too much and it was getting in the way of other things I like to do and schoolwork, so I cancelled. ANother factor was that Blizzards customer service is TERRIBLE, I mean the worst service I have ever seen from any company in the history of anything that has ever existed or ever will exist. Most of their replies to concerned customers are "We are working on it", or some obviously bullshitted answer. It's been obvious for quite some time now that it is extremely difficult to get a 'real' answer to a question from a forum mod, and these mods are the only real source of contact to blizzard we have, because the devs are like in some secret cave somewhere and only release tidbits of information to the forum mods to post once in a blue moon to keep would be quitters from cancelling their accounts. Blizzard used to be a good company, but their management of WoW is completely fucking up their reputation. Server downtimes every day, fucking up something serious every time they patch, failing to add new content in a reasonable time frame, among a host of other things.
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. It was fun up to level 60, and once you hit 60 all there is to do is repeat the same meaningless instances over and over and over. You farm these instances repeatedly to get geared up for the only two real high level encounters in the game, I mean there are two fucking big things to do besides these instances and meaningless PvP. I'm sorry but this game just pisses me off so much that I had to write all of this.

I play WoW (and btw it doesn't make me anti-social since my friends all play as well). Unfortunately my computer won't run it, so my roommate lets me use his account. I got a 27 tauren hunter, but i'm realizing it's wasted time since i am eventually going to get the game myself and have to do all the quests over again... lol but hey that's part of the fun of the game.
I've got Agammaggan as my main server, horde side. Shadowlight if you wanna look me up in game.

I played for a while (got a character to 43, and a few others to 20ish), but got swiftly bored with having to "grind" (repeat tasks to gain experience/find equipment), so I went back to the MMORPG I like (eve-online). If anyone wants to try a game where how many hours you play per day doesn't afect your character's skills, try it :) - www.eve-online.com, they have free 14-day trials.
PS - the best thing about WoW is Leeroy.

Apparently Dungeons and Dragons Online pwns all other MMORPG, i do play WoW occasionally, the grinding does suck... but it gives me something else to do with my internet time.

I play, but i have never gotten a char past lvl 20ish. I have a very small attention span... and wow seems to require one.

Reaper, you sound just like my housemate.. He has one character at 45, and about 30 on various servers all under lv20.
He boasts about being able to get to lv6 in under 40 minutes.
I then tell him he's a dumbass for paying the full subscription to experience around 10% of the game.

I can do the same, I have mastered the first area of every race...really kinda sad. Its just my attention span is shit, and the skills and stuff of each class gets boring as hell after a bit of time spent on them. Im not renewing my subscription anyway, im looking for a new money pit! I want a really good online game to amuse me, and wow just isnt cutting it anymore.

I took a look at it, but I'm more into PvP than WoW has to offer. I'm an old Shadowbane junkie, but I've recently gotten out of the MMORPG scene, it just takes up way too much time.

Not wanting to sound too much like a fanboi, but EVE really is awesome. It's very pvp-focused, and feels way more populated (only 100k subscribers, but only 1 server for them all). Your skills continue to train while offline and at the same speed (a major equaliser against powergamers tbh).
Give it a try :)

EVE looks massive...I think that I would get lost in it. Im downloading the trial right now, might as well give it a go, if I like it ill get the friend that made me get wow hooked on it too.

annnnd I need a cd key. nevermind then, maybe Ill just buy it.

Oh, I have a really good social life. I am a closet gamer, and cant bring myself to sit on the computer for more than a couple of hours at the tops. These games just provide a bit of escapism. And really, we are posting on a forum, we all need a little bit of a social boost.

I've never had to grind in WoW. Just doing and turning in quests gives me enough exp and loot to get to the next quests etc.
What I really hate are the twinks in the Battlegrounds. They just stay there with the best equipment they can have at the time, bought by their level 60 main and sent to them so they can do nothing but gain exp 1200 at a time from Warsong Gulch or others.
Even so, the BGs are really fun. Yay PVP. :D

I play World Of Warcraft, I am lv 60. But I really don't play to much on him, I only been playing on my lv 49. I can't wait till the new pack comes out in June, so my lv 60, will be able to lv to lv 70. I really just use the lv 60 to get things to give to my person in the oachsion house.

I play WOW once in a while. After reaching 60 with my first toon, got a bit bored, so quit for a couple of months. Ended up starting a couple more toons, to see if I could solo them to 60. Almost there, and it's been fun.
Couple of nice things about WOW is that first off, it's an easy game. Secondly, it doesn't require grouping or being in a mega-guild to play.

I loved WoW. I was completely obsessed with it UNTIL....I reached lvl 60. Now I don't play very often, although I do keep my account open. I have a lvl 60 frost/arcane gnome mage lass, named Madylon on Lothar server (everyone calls me Mady). I never spent much time on my alts (they're like lvl15's and below). I will probably get more active in playing again once the level cap is raised and the expansion is released.
I took a break from WoW to play City of Heroes (for a while). Didn't find it much to my liking. I played Guild Wars then (for a very short while) - gorgeous game, but didn't have enough depth for my taste, I just couldn't enjoy it for long periods of time. I think Guild Wars is meant to be played in spurts, and I'm too obsessive compulsive for that. Then I moved on to Everquest 2. I still play EQ2. It's the only one that really makes good use of my overpriced super computer, and I have a lvl 60 wizard, a lvl 30 troubador, and a lvl 28 fury, all on the Everfrost server. Fortunately, EQ2 has a lvl 70 level cap right now, tons and tons of content I still haven't touched, even at lvl 60, and even though Sony sucks ass....I have found the EQ2 community to be more mature than the community was in WoW (don't take offense, I'm just calling out the Lothar server on this), although the PvP in EQ2 sucks compared to WoW and Guild Wars, I just enjoy EQ2 the most, for right now.
I'm very fickle though, and my taste in games changes with the wind, so I refuse to swear permanent allegiance to any MMOrpg. As a matter of fact, of late, I got a little bored with the crowded newer zones in EQ2 and have been taking a few weeks off from it playing Morrowind IV: Oblivion, which is a single player rpg, with refreshingly unusual quests. I'm enjoying the reprieve from "go collect 15 of these and 5 of those" bullshit you find in so many MMOs. I consider those types of quests pure filler, and rather insulting.
Like I said though....come September when the WoW expansion is scheduled for release....I'm very likely to return to WoW for a while. Blizzard has a great thing going there. I think the graphics for WoW are charming. Most EQ2 players call them "cartoony," and I always get into an argument about that, because I think they are creative, artistic, colorful and whimsical. But I really do like that I can run EQ2 on maxed graphics with great performance and it's beautiful too. Just entirely a different look and style.
Sorry, I'm babbling....I have insomnia. I'll stfu now.
Oh yeah, and I only have a "normal" social life two days a week. The rest of the week I have nothing BUT time on my hands, so I don't consider MMOs a waste of time. I enjoy the hell out of them. Shit, lately I'm on this forum here almost 24/7....I don't have time to play much right now....I'm too busy playing in HERE.

All my Characters are located on the server Arthas. If you don't have a character there, tough shit, I'm only going to have one Level 60. Besides, everyone I know in real life plays here.
Sydlansky - Level 27 Human Priest (Future L60)
Descent - Level 7 Night Elf Priest (Male)
Doodooboy - Level 5 Human Priest
McFeces - Level 5 Gnome Warrior

Uhm, I played in the beta, trust me....that information is just hype. Talk about your grinding. You have to repeat the same dungeon over and over again until you "master" it (and that is in the finished game, not the beta). DDO was hyped to the max.
If you are looking for something of quality like WoW or EQ2....wait it out for Vanguard. Don't know about Vanguard: Saga of Heroes? Google it.

I'm going to have to call Shenanigans. Unless they upped the level cap with today's patch, the level cap is still 60 (and even if it was raised today, no way you two could make 2-3 levels by now). The only other explaination is you're playing on a home server, in which case it doesn't count anyway.

I think ooktar must be talking about EQ2. EQ2 has a lvl cap of 70. Tostig is right though, ooktar....you're not playing WoW if you have a lvl above 60 at this point.
I have a lvl 61 mage in EQ2 on Everfrost server, as I've said before.

Hehe, its not necro posting if someone does it first, aka PAPA_ELF.
I have a months worth of play on Frostmourne, Orc Warrior lvl 24
And ive only just made a character on daggerspine, as all my friends play that server (well, all of them that play WoW, which is like 4) Human Warrior lvl 8 (i have a fetish for warriors :P)
And ooktar, your either playing a private hacked server or a completely different game altogether, the level cap isnt going to be increased until november when the WoW expansion is released.

I played EQ2 from when it released up to about last month on the Unrest server. It was my guild-coolest people ever-really that kept me playing that long, because SOE was just constantly raping that game. The original EQ2 owned. Hard fucking core. But the first expansion Desert of Flames ruined it for me and my guild pretty much. And then when in-game politics got involved (/sigh) that was the coup de grace that ended it all for me.
I will be rejoining up with many of my old guild-mates when Vanguard releases, I can't wait.
Ah, man, the memories. First pick-up raid world wide to defeat Darathar(I'm pretty sure), and that grew into a great group of guildies.
EDIT: Oh yeah, WoW, I tried to play this one just recently after I quit EQ2, but I was just so damned burned out on the whole MMO thing, I just couldn't force myself to do it anymore. Hopefully I'll be ready by the time Vanguard releases.
