Has anyone here bought the preorder pack for Guild Wars? Or is there anyone here that is planning on buying the game? If you have played it so far in the betas, did you like what you saw?

I really liked the game and I will be for sure buying it the first day it comes out and I will be owning like hell, forming my guild asap.

it's a great game, but there's not much to do after you beat it except try out new secondary classes and look for greens, CoV and CoH is way better, but you never know with a new guildwars expansion coming out soon.

PvP is where it's at. But you have to unlock most of the skills and runes with PvE toons to be able to use most of them with the PvP chargen. Or you could just PvP with your PvE toon. I didn't get too much into the PvP. But I like the "campaign". It's just silly though that you're max level half way through it.

I'm going to be getting into RF Online soon. Just released today, and I got to play in the beta. RF Online is a korean made MMO that Codemasters bought rights to release, so we get to see it in the States and in most of Europe. It's got open PvP, Elves, Robots and midgets driving Mechs! Good times all around. :)

I'll help you play through the first parts of post-searing if you want, I need to level up a new character anyway.It's just silly though that you're max level half way through it.I didn't think so, since you stay at level 20 and enemies are pretty much always level 20+ after that point.

Also, creating builds to solo farm is all kinds of fun imo. I've been soloing Ettins with a 55 SS/MM neco/monk. Fun stuff. :D

Haven't played in quite a while. The bit of free time I get I spend here. However, if some people I know get back into it, I will. I used to have a guild, but it collasped. I have godly Level 20 Necromesmer, a fairly low level Mo/Wa and an E/R. I make a decent monk. I just need power leveling and money for armor.

Im not excactly sure what you meant by not accepting pubbies as wether you meant "noob" or "pervert", im neither besides.

As far as how good I am. Im fairly sure im very good at monking. When I do battles my team usually wins with no deaths...except when they make it a point to focus a significant amount of power on me...but thats exspected in a balanced system. so sure why not, I might not be available in the mean time though I got Graduation tests, then AP tests, then EOCT's and then the SAT again. so might be a month or so till im free.

Pubbies means public players, as in people that we don't know. My guild consists of members of a forum, and only forum members are invited.

As far as monking goes, that's all good and well, but I was asking about "55" or "solo" monking for two man UW/FoW/Tombs farming runs. Healers and bonders are easy enough to find, but I hate relying on pubbie 55s, as they all seem to suck horribly. I can do 55 with my Necro/Monk, but again, pubbie SS Necros are mostly idiots and those runs are much easier with two people... and I can't echo SS or use SV with my build (needs a Necro/mesmer build).

Since it's so hard finding consistently decent 55 monks, I made my own. BadEvilWrong and I have been doing 2 man Underworld farming runs for the past week or two. Aside from that I have 2 or 3 regular necros I play with, and also an echo SS necro of my own. I'll have my fissure armors in no time!

:rofl: Yes it is. We eat monks for breakfast. There just so many ways to shut down a spell caster. Echo and archane echo work well with blackout. Spinal shivers, well of the profane, desecrate enchantments, spiteful spirit, backfire, power spike, etc. The possibilities are insane.

Bonetti's is a 'must bring' for both my warrior and my monk. IW is also a very nice skill.


I managed to last about 30 minutes in Fissure earlier. Solo. With a Necro. I got to the mob right before the quests where you kill the Abyssals in that colosseum looking thing and a patrol with two mesmers ended up owned me by spamming shatter enchantment. I got 2 shards for my troubles though, so it wasn't a complete waste. No screenshots because I was spamming my ass off and near death many times. I'll try to take some later if I get a chance. :happysad:

Why is it that fissure armor doesn't have a higher armor than (insert highest normal armor name here), it took me forever to get it, why not let me have uber armor?

Why only up to lvl 20? Not only it is easy to get to that level in 3 days, but it is such a low lvl. If it were harder to get to the level or there were more levels, I would play more.

Why is it that koreans are always the best at PvP....

Giving fissure armor, or other 15k armors, better stats would only reward the people who farm a lot, which doesn't necessarily take skill. Fissure is supposed to be a goal, something you do after completing the game, not something that gives you an advantage over people who play less than you.

I have fissure on my monk and necro, both have well over 1 mil XP and I’ve solo and 2-man farmed countless amounts of shards and ectos. None of that warrants higher armor stats though, since it would unbalance things for people who choose not to waste time farming.

You also have to consider that pve characters are allowed into every pvp arena in the game. People with fissure armor would have a distinct advantage over pvp chars. That might not matter in the low level Random and Team arenas, but in competitive pvp like Hall of Hero's and GVG, it would be unbalanced.

If you want rewards for poopsocking check out WoW.

Why would the level cap even matter though? People seem to have a retarded complex about high level caps for some odd reason. 20, 60, what's the difference as long as everything is balanced around the maximum level? I'd rather move on to high level areas where skill counts, and competitive pvp, than mindlessly grind out endless levels.

Again, if poopsocking is your thing, try WoW or EQ.

They're not. They have maybe 20 teams in the top 100 Guild ladder right now, and they rarely play in Hero's Ascent (used to be Tombs... Hall of Hero's) anymore.


You seem to be missing one of the major things about Guild Wars, though: pvp. Guild wars is all about pvp, it always has been. Pve is really only there for the newb RPers and people looking for rune unlocks/pretty armor/perfect weapons. If repeatedly killing enemies with dumb AI is your thing, then WoW or EQ would probably be more your speed.

I'm with jung, I like the fact that you don't have to grind for hours on end to get something worth a damn. It's more about skill than how much time you can devote to the game. I don't have more than 4 hours that I can devote to a game every day, let alone play the same game every day.

Thats why I don't play WoW anymore, it's all about how much time you can devote to the game. The only thing seperating 2 chars is how much money they make.

I kinda like D2 cause you can have 2 chars that are the same class, and the same level, and one is a great solo char, and one is a great team player.

Why do you want to spend 1 month playing a game, doing the same thing over and over again, 8+ hours every day, for a few levels. What does that prove? That you realy have no life, that you don't have to work alot maby...

I wasted even more on WoW, AO, planetside and all I have to show for it is alot less stuff. In GW, I can remake a new char every week and have something to show for it in a short wile. I like changing things up, so on wow, I had 5 low chars, thats realy the only way for me tpo enjoy the game.

After all, I ain't playing cause I want to be the best, I am playing for the hell of it.

Yes, just go to Lion's Arch and talk to the skill trainer guy, he will give you a quest to find Mhelno. Take the quest and walk outside to talk to him, then go back in LA and go hop on the boat to get to Cantha.
