the prom is supposed to be the best night of your High school life, right? What is so special about it??? Im a sophmore and have not gone to a prom, i doubt im gonna go to mine and if i do, im not gonna dress up do anything special cause i dont get why its so important. Anyone wanna explain??

I went to my boyfriend's prom, because 1 I promised I would and too I'm his girlfriend, It was pretty kool actually, I was scared about it at first, but it turned out alright, In the uk we do it cos people are leaving school so its a big dance celebration for them, It's the same in the US right? Anywho, you shouldn't put it down so far, I mean if you do go, you could laugh at all the girls dancing silly in really expensive dresses :tongue:
edit.. Or better yet, get off with a load of guys, or make a dramtic entrance. But if you do go, remember to have fun!

It is one of the most important times of your life that shows that you are growing up to be a nice young adult. Growing up and wearing that special dress or tux and being there with your love is great.

I travel a lot like tons so I'm homeschooled and I'm never going to get to go to prom this is my senior year and I've never been to a dance I hate this time of year because it makes me think of all the good times and wonderful prom nights girls my age are going to have and I'll never get that. everyone tells me its no big deal their prom was stupid why'd they go but I know they are only saying it because of my situation, so if you have the chance go be greatful you get to go because somewhere out there theres another person who'd give anything to go and can't.

Tell me about it Life, I'm homeschooled too, I was really lucky because I got to go to my boyfriends prom, But if I wasn't with him I wouldn't of ever gone to a prom or dance.

I dont know, I got knocked up and dropped out of school. So I never went to a prom. Ever.

Prom is only fun if you have a group of friends who are actually willing to dance. I didn't really understand the whole it being the last chance for all the seniors to get together appeal, because my school held all sorts of events where we could all be together "one last time," and a lot of these were after Prom. I agree that you should go, but unless some singular event happens, don't expect it to be the time of your life.
