WTF?! - WTF.com - Site of the Month February 2010

Everyone has, at least once in their lifetime, had a family member pull out that old photo album to show off embarrassing pictures of you when you were younger, or ones that were snapped while you were unaware of the presence of a camera. No matter how bad yours may be, there’s always someone out there who had it worse off than you. This whole aspect is encompassed in the site Awkward Family Photos.

Awkward Family Photos is a blog that features several photos of people and their family members that are - you guessed it - awkward. Weddings, Christmas, Easter, and other various photo opportunities are covered in this blog. If you can think of an occasion, Awkward Family Photos probably has it.

That family vacation you took where you did jazz hands underwater? That's nothing compared to this family. It's not every day that you get to see a whole entire family making suggestive gestures with churros. The guy wearing the hat in the background certainly seems interested.

Ah, camping. There's nothing better than the great outdoors. Everybody load up in your hippie van, and go to the nearest wooded location. Spend time with your family birdwatching, catching the breeze, and popping some boners. Apparently it runs in the family.

Christmas. What better thing to do during the holidays than to take your whole family to a non-existent fairytale of a man for a memento. Oddly enough, something seems wrong here... I think it's because Santa is wearing liederhosen.

Now this picture is beyond disturbing. I can understand getting in the Christmas spirit, but nowhere in this Christmas spirit is a clause about wearing your birthday suit with minimal coverage. I'm not sure "Santa" would be pleased with these people wearing his hat. He'd most likely say "No, no, no!" instead of his usual merry greeting.

Remember when you wanted a pet for Christmas? A kitten or a puppy? Maybe a bunny? This girl got a pet, all right, but not your usual kind. Honestly, who leaves opossums under trees?

Halloween is always the time where you get to wear outlandish costumes for one night and go parading around and trespassing on people's property in order to obtain candy from strangers. This photo shows us very clearly who mom's "little ballerina" is, and who does all the dirty work for her little sister.

There are so many different photos on this site, it is unreal. Some will make you laugh, others will make you cry, and others will make you want to throw up in your mouth a little. I sincerely implore you to go take a look at the site, and see what gems you can find for yourself.
